The Grand Forks Scotties Curling Club was formed in February, 1955. Three teams played and practiced regularly throughout the 1955 season, the first full season of play. The Club had six rinks and a club membership of 28. In March of 1956, the Club organized their first bonspiel in connection with the men's Spring Bonspiel. Mr. B. Satrom donated the Grand Forks Glass and Paint Travelling Trophy to the Club to encourage competition. It was not until 1958 that the name "Scotties" was submitted for...
